One Thing You Can Do To Lift Your Spirits Today

If you’re having one of those days (and we all know what one of those days feels like), why not change it? Come on, be silly — act goofy. I don’t care how serious of a person you are, but I want you to do something silly to make yourself laugh, and dwell on it. Now, to save embarrassment, you can do this where people are not around you - even if you have to lock yourself in the bathroom for awhile.

Start making funny faces, start acting like a little child. Sure, people might think you’re crazy if they DID see you, but it’s OK, so be outrageous.

In fact, look at the mirror and say “I am the best-looking person in the whole world.” Say this ten times and you will begin to feel much better. In fact, start singing a funny little Disney song like one from The Little Mermaid, Snow White or one of my favorites, Pete’s Dragon. You’d be surprised how much this lifts your day.

Great advice, Nik! I’m smiling reading this. Thank you for giving the best explanation people need. You got the formula not to ever get old, “just stay young.”

When I reached 40, I looked at the mirror and noticed “I’m getting or looking old.”
I didn’t like that because I know i feel so young inside. So, I decided since then, it doesn’t matter what’s my age that can’t stop, “I’ll stay as young as I can be!”
Now, I feel FREE, feeling and acting like a child if I want to. (And I’m supposed to be a quiet, serious person.) So liberating feeling, and you’re right, it’s FUN!
Interestingly, I noticed when I face the mirror, I’m actually looking much better and younger than ever. LOL Isn’t that FUNNY?

Thanks, Nik! Can’t wait to meet you in person, soon…. - Your child-like pal, Anolia

Such great advice Nik, only we have the power to change the way we are feeling.
Thanks for reminding us to find fun within ourselves!

  3. Jimmy Says:

I really am the best looking bloke in the world - thanks Nik! … and a happy bloke to boot!

  4. Freda Chaney Says:

Love the silly side of you, Nik! What’s life if it can’t be fun now and then? I’m collecting the cute TINTIN comic adventure books you read as a kid. Youtube provides a wealth of fun videos if one needs a good hoot or two! And laughing with friends and family can be some of the best times ever.

I’ve heard it said that the closet one will ever get to seeing God is by looking into the mirror and smiling at oneself. ; )

    Cheers,
    Freda

What do you want to be when you grow up? This is an innocent question that is often asked of young children. They always respond by saying something like a fireman or a doctor or the really precious ones might surprise us by saying they’d like to be a paleontologist. But what if we’re forty, [...]
